We're back in business! The pirates shall ride once more!
I am leaving old posts as they were (mostly) for posterity. This is the account of the Phoenix and there's not a lot there anyway, so we'll just keep building.
Big announcement number one, I am gender fluid but prefer male pronouns. Instead of being you're adoring Captain Vesper Ward, I am now Vander Ward (title TBD). Vander is a mix of Vesper (who I shall always be, but no longer in the same way) and Alexander, my new name in my new life of gender questioning.
The story is in rough details currently, and I am not prepared to type it out in full yet, but the abridged version is that my crew, after escaping the burning wreckage of the Phoenix that I did not, went out to gather Phoenix down. They used it to bring me back to life and I am using that as a good way to reset from past problems and come out with my new identity. It's a pretty good win/win.
That's all for now, I'm currently picking through and fixing up any social media that may still exist and is attached to my beloved fleet.
The hashtag #PhoenixRising shall be used a lot in the upcoming months, so that's where to get the info.
Also I promise I'll get better at this blogging and social media thing again.
For now, Vander out.

Christian Clockwork Society Slowly Building Steam
har har har, get it? Steam? Okay, bad joke.
ANYWAY
My Reborn Mechanists have met up again tonight and it's been a little more difficult to get people motivated.
A, we're still not official so there's nothing to really celebrate and
B, it's mid semester, people are busy with plays and mid-terms and school work and all other sorts of nonsense
Soooo, my pirates need to be doing something to. The Phoenix will certainly be needing to make an event page for Steampunk World's Fair. I should probably go do that now. Which reminds me, my Leftennant needs to be made an admin.
So yes...I really have no Steampunk news, but the Mechanists are going to become a Christian Clockwork Society if it's the last thing I do.
Captain Ward
*********EDIT*********
Sooooo I've done plenty since and that group never left the planning phases and the occasional hang out. Mostly whatever parts of it were Phoenix transferred over and seeing as I got kicked out of that school anyway there isn't much reason to hope for it to continue.
Either way, I made an effort. I had the paperwork filled out and everything, but no such luck.

Tinker's Tale
My good friend, okay we're not really good friends but he's really awesome, Mike Perna, is the author of an awesome webstory called Tinker An Episodic Steampunk Adventure.
It's the story of a man named Samuel Thatch who has created a robot with a personality named HodgePodge, Pudge for short. It takes place in New York's five points. He eventually goes on to be a great hero with his own airship (See the description taken from the website below*) but for now he's a small time tinkerer who is in love with a woman he's not allowed to be near, fighting off gangs with his steam powered inventions and assisting the crew of a famous airship
*You’ve heard the name. He is known about the streets of the Boroughs. It whips its way through the narrows and shakes the rafters of Tammany Hall. Every pub and dive boast’s their own sign telling patrons where he sat when he came in for a drink, accompanied by stories about how a long time back, when old what’s-his-name ran the place, he sat down at the table in the corner and ordered his trademark birch beer. Captain Samuel James Thatch did not always have this sort of reputation.
No. Long before his airship set out to cross the ocean, there was a young man that owned a little shop in Manhattan called S.J. the tinker.
The Civil War had passed, and, other than some memories and the occasional singed rafter, the people were getting used to life like it used to be. That is, until the powers that be uptown had decided they would no longer endure the riff-raff in their backyard. Their mission was to take down the Five Points by the turn of the century, and that meant their world would be stirred up again. S.J. made a living repairing equipment, but his heart was in creating contraptions and his head flew through the clouds on the great airships.
This is his story. Come along to see what lengths a man will go to in order to sail the skies.
So head on over to
Tinker's Tale
And check it out!

A Christian Clockwork Society
So the Reborn Mechanists already need to be taking a step back. Loads of fun is to be had, but we must remember we're followers of Christ first and foremost.
Next meeting I'm hoping to have a discussion about the direction the group should be taking and those interested in that. Plus leaving options open for those don't want to do that aspect, though we'll see what the group comes up with.
We need to talk about the building weekend, I'm thinking the weekend after October the 9th.
The role of Chaplain needs to be further discussed
The community of the group and the role of small groups in order to create closer bonds amongst members
Street performance kind of stuff
Speaking at Churchs
Skits for youth groups
Bible Studies
All things to be discussed at the next meeting.
As for Phoenix updates, well I've been really busy...so Phoenix members hold on a little longer, though Steampunk World's Fair tickets do need to be bought soon and I need to get our flag up and running

Yeah, okay I'm not Christian and this was more for an attempt at becoming a proper club at a religious institution I once attended (and was subsequently thrown out of).

Ahoy!
Honestly, I couldn't think of a better title. So I still haven't finished my introduction, but I don't really care. I'm very excited for today's upcoming Reborn Mechanists meeting.
I still need to write out an agenda for it though x.x
So lets see, I need to talk about
NekoCon
Halloween (costumes, ideas for fun, whether or not we're all going steampunk or not)
possible costume trip
fundraising
apologize for not getting the charter in yet
Sherlock Holmes Inklings event
I think that about covers most things, good thing I write this stuff down.

Introduction
So it's been a rather odd day. I miss my Time Lord like crazy. I suppose seeing as this is my first post I should be introducing myself. As much as I'd like to pretend that I'm gunna keep this in character I know it won't happen. So deal with it. This blog is for me as much as it is for anyone silly enough to read it.
The name's Vesper. Vesper Ward to be exact.
I am a disgruntled Time Lord known as The Archivist, my job was to file away data related to all of history, past, present and future. Do you have any idea how tedious it gets reading about all these different times and places and yet never going to any of them? It's rough.
In any event I came across a timeline on the planet Earth which included these wondrous adventurers known as Sky Pirates. Without much of a second thought I took off, arrived at Earth, hid my Time Lord self in a Chameleon Arc Pocket Watch and immediately joined the ranks of a pirate airship. I was named Vesper Ward because at my time of arrival I looked like a child and the crew called me the ward of the ship. Seeing as I had no real past I didn't speak much, the German cook on board called me Whisper. Which with a thick German accent sounds a lot more like Vesper. So Vesper Ward became me.
After a great few years aboard the...well, I don't remember the name of the ship anymore.
In any event, my ship was destroyed by The Empire of Luxemborg. Luckily I was picked up by the fantastic and dreaded pirate airship The Phoenix.
Right...that's enough of an intro for now.
**********EDIT***********
Former real life name removed for reasons.
This was a story line that never panned out, though the origins of Vesper are still a bit unknown, it's likely a similar tale to Vander. Rising from the ashes. Perhaps some day I'll actually hash that out properly. For now, I'm loving the current story and there's no need to go back other than for posterity.
